Anatoli Polkovnikov: Quantum Chaos and Thermalization Through Eigenstates ↓ In this talk I will review basic notions of classical and quantum chaos
in single particle systems and in particular the relation of quantum chaos
and the random matrix theory (RMT). Then I will discuss the eigenstate
thermalization hypothesis (ETH), introduced by J. Deutsch and M. Srednicki,
as a natural extension of RMT. I will show how ETH can be used to derive
familiar thermodynamic relations including fluctuation theorems and in some
cases extend them beyond linear response. I will also briefly discuss some
examples where ETH is violated: integrable systems, MBL systems and
periodically driven Floquet systems. (TCPL 201) |
