Description

The Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics will host the "Partial Differential Equations in Fluid Dynamics" workshop in Hangzhou, China from August 6 to August 11, 2023.

This is a 5-day workshop with about 42 participants. It will focus on the study of the theoretical partial differential equations and application in fluid dynamics, emphasizing the study on the structure of solutions and their large-time behavior to Navier-Stokes equations, Euler equations, Boltzmann equations, and so on. The conference will serve as a platform to report new breakthroughs, exchange research ideas, extend academic networks, and promote diversity and inclusion in this research field. New collaborations are also expected during and after the meeting. Topnotch speakers and talks will be carefully selected to make the conference attractive to a diverse audience.

The Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (IASM) in Hangzhou, China, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, are collaborative Canada-US-Mexico ventures that provide an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station in Banff is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT).
