Description

The Banff International Research Station will host the "10th Seminar for Next Generation of Researchers in Power Systems" workshop in Banff from May 25, 2018 to May 27, 2018.

This workshop will bring together the top PhD students from the top power system academic programs from renowned universities from all around the world to share and discuss their research work in electricity grid analysis, modeling, simulation, dynamics, control, and optimization, and thus learn from and discuss with each other, directed by the organizers, who are award-recipient researchers in power systems, about the state-of-the-art, future directions, and hot trends in different and relevant topics in power networks, and their related applied math fields.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT).
