Description

The Banff International Research Station will host the "K-12 Unsolved" workshop from to .

K-12 teachers struggle every day how to engage a large spectrum of student ability. When a grade 2 teacher starts to teach addition, she knows that the top students in her class already know how to add while the bottom students are still struggling with yesterday's ideas. How can she engage the top students without losing the bottom students? How can she engage the bottom students without boring the top students?

This workshop will help by recommending thirteen curricular unsolved problems belong in every child’s experience of mathematics. Struggling students get the practice they need, working on basic skills. Top students are inspired because the hard fun is worthy of their intellects.
